Background of the Project

CARD in collaboration with NED is implementing a project titled “Action for Youth Civic Engagement in Ethiopia”. The project seeks to encourage further engagement of civil groups across four regions by enhancing the leadership and advocacy skills of the youth, human rights defenders, and pro-democracy activists. The project aims to formalize informal movements and institutionalize individual initiatives.

The Call

As part of this project, CARD has prepared an intensive training targeting the youth, human rights defenders, and pro-democracy activities on raising their knowledge on aspects such as gender rights and GBV, freedom of speech, civil societies and associations, and increasing their skills on project cycle management, communication and advocacy, and others.

Based on the above objectives, CARD is planning to give 7 consecutive training sessions on different topics and thematic areas. The trainees who present successful proposals to formalize their movements and/or institutionalize individual initiatives will receive sub-grants from CARD to implement their proposals.
