CARD Hosted a Panel Discussion on University Students Conflicts in Ethiopia
As part of its series of activities funded by the National Endowment for Democracy, CARD hosted a panel discussion on the causes and solutions to university students' conflicts in Ethiopia. The panel discussion was held on the 11th of January 2020 at the Intercontinental Addis Hotel. The event was attended by university students, lecturers, and administrative staff members as well as other stakeholders.
The panelists of the event were Mesfin Manaze, a Ph.D. Candidate on the topic of ‘diversity management’ at Addis Ababa University and a lecturer at Jigjiga University, Awet Halefom, a Ph.D. candidate at the Institute of Peace and Security in Addis Ababa University, and Bontu Ajema, a third-year political science student in Addis Ababa University. All the panelists presented their perspectives on the causes as well as preventive alternatives for raising university student conflicts across Ethiopia.
