About the Organization:

Center for Advancement of Rights and Democracy (CARD) is a board-led, for-not-profit organization registered in Ethiopia under the Civil Societies Law 1113/2019 with registry number 4307. CARD acquired its legal personality on 24 July 2019. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced editor to provide editing services for a bi-weekly social media conversation sensitivity report commissioned by CARD.

Position: Editor (Bi-weekly Social Media Conversation Sensitivity Report)

Job Overview:

The selected editor will be responsible for editing the content of the bi-weekly social media conversation sensitivity report, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and audience targeting in adherence to CARD's style guide. The editor will collaborate with online monitoring officers to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the report's content.

Key Responsibilities:

- Edit the bi-weekly social media conversation sensitivity report for clarity, accuracy, and consistent style based on CARD's style guide.

- Ensure that the report is edited to effectively target the intended audience.

- Acknowledge receipt of the draft report, perform necessary edits, and return the edited version within the set timeframe.

- Collaborate with online monitoring officers to enhance the quality of the report's content.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience minimum 5 years, in editing written content, preferably in the context of social media reports or sensitive communications.

- Strong command of language and grammar with meticulous attention to detail.

- Familiarity with the use of style guides and the ability to maintain consistent language and tone.

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with online monitoring officers and understand their feedback.
