CARD Equips 24 Youth Ambassadors with Human Rights-Based Dialogue Facilitation Skills

Three-day training in Addis Ababa strengthens youth-led peacebuilding efforts in Amhara and Oromia

The Center for the Advancement of Rights and Democracy (CARD) is implementing the Inter-Regional Human Rights-Based Approach to Youth Dialogue for Peace Initiative in Amhara and Oromia Regions. As part of the initiative, #CARDEthiopia successfully conducted a three-day Human Rights-Based Youth Dialogue Facilitation Training for 24 selected Youth Ambassadors from the Amhara and Oromia regions.

Held from September 21–23, 2026, in Addis Ababa, the training equipped Youth Ambassadors with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and practical tools needed to design, facilitate, and evaluate inclusive, safe, and effective Human Rights-Based Dialogue (HRBD) processes.

Throughout the training, participants strengthened their understanding and practical skills in facilitating HRBD processes, applying a youth-led human rights-based dialogue framework, integrating conflict sensitivity into dialogue design, and using effective framing and facilitation techniques to foster safe, inclusive, and meaningful dialogue.
